High speed internet needs this. I'm stoked for increased speed, but I'll tell you what would make me even more happier.... new carriers. What is gonig to force COX communications (from Arizona, the only main provider of cable internet in the entire area) to get faster. While this is cheap, they might not be forced to upgrade... or it will cost more just because its faster. The old "get the old network for X, but get the new network for 2X" but it still costs us the same.

The real problem is lack of providers, and extreme lag with wireless or DSL. Look at TV for example. Dish and Direct are 2 major providers because they can offer the same product, with quality and customer service. Internet has not achieved this yet. Cable is flat out better then DSL and wireless is a joke (for gaming and speed). So, while this will allow for faster speeds, it may not allow for actual competition to drive down prices and increase quality--- I'm hoping for some good news in the near future :)
