Google’s Still Dominating
As most SEO’s and search intelligent people know that Google just owes the search market but year after year, month after month, Google continues to grow. There is a very good reason for that which I have mentioned before, Google has the best search results
On Monday, August 11, 2008 Hitwise provided more facts of Google completely dominating the market. In fact in July Google topped a 70 percent share of U.S. Web searches which is up 10 percent from the same month a year ago and 2 percent from the previous month. Yahoo search was second at 18.65 percent, MSN search was third at 5.36 percent, and Ask.com came in fourth at 3.53 percent.
Google is now joining several tech giants including Cisco Systems in routers, Intel in chips, and Microsoft in lots of stuff. Google is kinda like Wal-Mart (except better) - if you offer everything, why wouldn’t people want to go there for a one stop? Lets get real. Google offers virtual maps, documents online, webmaster tools, Google analytics, gmail, iGoogle gadgets, images, quality search results and tons more - ALL FOR FREE - and keeping their main core on Search.
Google company exectives have to keep reminding some to not call the Google search business a monopoly.

Wow - They’ve finally cleared 70% market share - that’s amazing. I’ve been watching Google creep toward uncontested domination since they emerged, but the closer they get it seems like the needle is starting to move faster.
There has been plenty of speculation as to why one search engine (Google) seems to stand out so much - I’ve done my share of trying to figure out why Google continues to gain momentum - going as far as to contend that a search engines homepage might be the key to their success - heh
But whatever the cause, Google is clearly the favorite and continues to grow every time I see the charts.

Hard to argue that Google rocks. Its great to see a company doing things correctly (just an opinion about what they provide) and rising to the top.
