Best Buy Selling iPhones in September

Starting September 7, 970 Best Buy stores and 16 Best Buy Mobile stores will be selling Apple’s iPhone 3G. This being the first retail store to carrying the iPhone, outside Apple stores and AT&T, this news is quit shocking and very interesting. “It solidifies us as the place to go for the cool stuff,” Best Buy Mobile President Shawn Score “Our customers are looking for this product.”

BestBuy Offering 8 & 16GB iPhone

Best Buy will offer the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G’s and will keep Apple’s retail pricing policy at $199 for the 8GB and $299 for the 16GB model. Although Best Buy customers will still be required to sign a two-year contract with AT&T, this large retail chain offering this huge and widely popular phone is very convenient for tons of others. I remember when I was in the market to find an iPhone I went to several AT&T stores and they recommended me to the AT&T headquarters or the Apple store which was 2 hours away. Needless to say, I was not able to find a store that had one by the time I got around to all the recommended stores.

Apple Sells Tons of iPhones

Apple claimed to sell over 1 million iPhones in just a few days and continue to sell the popular gadget by mass numbers. It took 74 days for the original iPhone to hit 1 million sales so why would Apple change the process in what is working? They want to see even more! Their goal is to sell over 5 million iPhones by the end of the year and to do that they need to produce more locations. Instead of building new mobile and retail Apple and AT&T stores, why not distribute to one of the largest retailer in the electronics industry.

Apple’s iPhone has set the bar high and put a new spin on the mobile and tech industry with all it’s integrated features. Some of the thing’s we would never thought of are now here and available for us to enjoy. Technology in today’s world is just awesome.

I’m still in the “i don’t know if i need a phone with email” group, so i’m lost with all the hype. Its an expensive phone that does things I don’t need it to do. Ultimately, I love the new technology, but there is just no reason for me to upgrade yet. I am constantly near a computer, and the few hours i spend away don’t leave me wondering what my inbox is doing.
Sure i could be checking things online (movie times, locations or phone numbers) but I don’t find that a necessity.

Just my opinion,
they do look good though.

I must agree with you on one point - Not sure if I really do need it. I work on the computer all the time and when I am not working I normally have a computer near me for checking email, etc. - still wondering if I could really use this powerful technology.

Any more opinions?
