AMD FireStream 9250 Video CardHave you ever asked yourself the question, what is video power? I know I have asked myself this along with several other questions when searching for a new and updated video card. Technology from AMD has officially answered that question for me with their new AMD FireStream 9250.

AMD FireStream 9250 Video Card At A Glance:

- Second-Generation Double-Precision Floating point Hardware
- Compact Size - Ideal for small 1U servers, desktop systems and larger servers.
- 1GB of GDDR3 memory
- High Performance Computing (HPC)
- Breaks One Teraflop Barrier for single precision performance
- Occupies a signal PCI slot
- Power consumption less than 150 watts
- Efficiency up to eight gigaflops per watt
- API and OS Support
- Asynchronous DMA

AMD’s second generation FireStream 9250 just broke the single-precision teraflop barrier at fewer than 150 watts at the International Supercomputing Conference in Germany. That being said along with the other features offered, I am highly impressed with this new video card computer technology.

The FireStream 9250 video card is expected to be available in Q3-September 2008 at an MSRP of $999 USD.
