Age of Conan | Release

Let the Hyborian adventures begin! Today Funcom and thousands of retail stores will release the Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures to all the public. To those that have pre-ordered your copy, congrats! You have already indulged in the adventures for the past three days and now have the opportunity of continual game play. I however will be leaving work today with the intention to purchase if not already sold out.

Gamers all around are giving Age of Conan, 9 out of 10, very impressive! Something more impressive… As of May 19th, 2008 - Collector’s Edition of Age of Conan is completely sold out! Yes even after the extra copies made.

I had the opportunity to take part in the open beta of AoC and was very impressed with the design and concept in which they integrate. At first I was a little disappointed at the game play due to the game being in beta - I know, I know - Beta is what it is, if you don’t like it get out of it - Well I did. After allowing the game to experience open beta I tried it again and actually got 6fps and was able to play the game a bit - what fun!

It will be very interesting to see how this new MMORPG experience will play out. As we all know there are dozens of MMO’s already out there in which some have a great deal of popularity. There have been a few MMO’s released that have a good concept but very rocky in game play which makes players stray. Will Age of Conan be able to pull it off? We will see…
